2) Downloading and setting up your IP Profile.
Every IP that you purchased from us, generates a VPN profile. To connect to your purchased IP, we make use of this VPN profile. Here you will see how to download your VPN profile, and save it for later use.
Open your internet browser, go to http://secure.ipburger.com, and log in into your account.
Once you are logged in, click on 'Services' box, that mentions the number of your active IP services.
Click on the IP service which you want to set up on your computer.
Click on the green button that says 'Download your VPN profile'.
This will download the file as shown here for Google Chrome browser. Click on the profile that is downloaded at the bottom-left corner of the screen as shown in the below screenshot.
For Mozilla Firefox you will be prompted for saving/opening the file. Select 'Save File' and click on 'OK'. Once downloaded you can find the profile in the downloads button on the top-right corner of the screen as shown below. Click on the recently downloaded profile.
For Microsoft Edge you will be prompted for saving/opening the file. Click on 'Save' button. Once downloaded click on 'View Downloads' as shown.
It will open the list of downloads as shown below. Click on the profile you downloaded.
For MAC computers using Safari Browser, it will appear in the downloads folder as shown. Open the list of downloads and click on the profile.
Clicking on the profile, the software will automatically import the profile. It will display a popup box saying the profile was successfully imported. Click on OK.
Once done, open the software from the bottom right corner tray icon as shown below. You will see all the IP profiles that you have imported into the software.
Click on the IP you want to connect and you will be connected to the VPN.
3) Test your VPN connection.
After you are connected with the VPN, we recommend that you run all the tests given here: How to test if your VPN connection is fully secured? - IP and DNS leak tests
4) How to use multiple IPs on a single device.
Many of our users have more than one service registered with us. It is possible and is easy to use multiple IPs on a single device.
The process to configure another IP in Viscosity is similar to that of configuring the first one. You need to download the IP profile from your clientarea and import it into the software. Once, you import the profile into the software, it should look like:
Now, you can connect any one of these IPs at a time.
Using multiple user accounts
Some of our clients prefer creating multiple user accounts on the computer and use one IP from each user account. If you are doing so, please make sure you manually disconnect from one IP before you log out of the user account and log into another one and connect to another IP.
5) Auto connect VPN on starting your computer.
Select General tab on the top as shown below and confirm that you have check marked the option of "Start Viscosity at Login". This will start Viscosity while you turn on your computer.
Once you have ticked "Start Viscosity at Login", go to the Connections tab on the top as shown in the screenshot below. Clcik the IP profile that you want to auto connect on startup and then click on the edit button at the bottom right corner of the window that opens a new screen.
Check mark the option "Connect when Viscosity opens" at the bottom left corner of the screen and then click on Save.
Great! you are done with auto connecting an IP when you start your computer.
6) How does Kill Switch work in Viscosity?
If the internet is flaky, the VPN might keep disconnecting/reconnecting. When it happens, you might connect to the internet with your real IP address.
To avoid such risks of IP leaks, Kill Switch is necessary. A Kill Switch blocks you from accessing the internet temporarily if you are accidentally disconnected from the VPN.
Viscosity has an inbuilt Kill Switch. When your VPN stops working accidentally, Viscosity will not allow Internet usage until it is connected back automatically. In the screenshots shown below, we have exhibited how the kill switch will protect you from revealing the original IP.

As shown in the above screenshot, none of the sites are working after VPN stopped and the connection monitor at the centre shows timeout. The IP in the Viscosity starts showing 'Connecting' and the icon will turn orange. This way, kill switch will block your Internet and will protect you from displaying your original IP.
